BV Made Rules

General Rules

  • Discussion of politics and religion are expressly forbidden at BV Made

  • Do not share your door code. If you think it's been compromised, email contactbvmade@gmail to setup a new code. 

  • If something belongs to BV Made, it doesn't leave BV Made except with approval from the board.

  • If you get it out, clean it and put it back when you are done.

  • If you break it or it breaks while you are using it, leave a note on it and send an email with the details to contactbvmade@gmail.com, so it can be repaired.

  • BV Made members and renters of the co-working spaces have access to the space 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

 

Rules for Co-Working Artist Studio & BV Made shop space:

1. Membership & Access:

Co-working Artist Studios: Access to specific rented co-working studio space is exclusive to the individual or group renting the space. Only the artist(s) who have paid for the studio rental have access to that particular studio. Sharing your access with non-members or allowing non-members to use your studio space is prohibited without prior approval from management.

 

BV Made Shop: Access to the BV Made shop is granted only to paid members. The BV Made shop is separate from the co-working studios and is available 24/7 for members who have completed any necessary training for equipment use.

 

2. Shared Spaces:

Break Area: The break area, which includes a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and a large project table, is available for use by all members. Clean up after use to ensure the space remains tidy and welcoming.

 

Bathrooms: There are two bathrooms available for use. Please respect the space and leave it clean for others. Report any maintenance issues promptly.

 

Respect Shared Spaces: Be mindful of others in shared spaces. If using the large table for your projects, ensure that it's cleaned up after you’re done, and be aware of your surroundings to prevent disruption. 

If there are others waiting for a shared space or equipment, limit your use to 1 hour.

 

3. Cleanliness & Organization:

Personal Workspaces: Keep your personal studio space clean and organized. Dispose of trash and recycle properly. Items left in common areas (break area, hallways, bathrooms) and unattended will be removed.

 

Shared Areas: Everyone is responsible for keeping the shared spaces tidy. After using the break area, microwave, coffee maker, or fridge, clean up your area, wash your dishes, and wipe down surfaces. Failure to comply will result in a fine of $25.

 

Repeated violations may lead to membership termination.

Tool Use & Return: For those who use equipment in the makerspace shop, return tools and materials to their proper places after use. Respect and maintain all equipment, and report any issues or malfunctions immediately.

 

4. Noise & Disruptions:

Noise Levels: Keep noise levels at a reasonable volume, especially in the break area and co-working studios. If your work requires loud equipment or materials, please use noise-canceling headphones or move to a more isolated area.

 

Music: Music may be played, but please use headphones in shared areas to avoid disturbing others.

Respect Quiet Hours: Although the spaces are available 24/7, be mindful of late-night noise if others are working nearby.

 

5. Guests:

Co-working Studio Guests: Members may have guests in their co-working studios, but guests should be respectful of the space and not disrupt other members. All guests must be supervised at all times.

 

BV Made Shop Guests: 

 

This is important for all the below reasons:

    • It communicates that all guests are responsible for their own safety

    • It makes guests consider the "no lifeguard on duty/ swim at your own risk" aspect of the place they are entering

    • It gives us (the member signing them in) an opportunity to talk about safety with the guests

  • Guests must be over 18 years old to sign the liability waiver.

  • Guests may not operate equipment owned by BV Made.

  • Additionally, as a member, you signed our liability waiver when you created your membership.

  • BV Made Shop: No guests are allowed in the makerspace shop unless accompanied by a paid member and with prior approval. Only authorized members may use the tools and equipment in the shop.

 

6. Health & Safety:

Eye protection is required at all times while in the shop. Ensure that you have put on eye protection before entering the shop.

Tool & Equipment Safety: Wear appropriate protective gear when using tools or machinery in the makerspace shop. Follow all safety guidelines and instructions provided. Only trained members may operate certain equipment.

 

Report Incidents: If you experience or witness any accidents, injuries, or safety concerns, report them to the space manager immediately.

 

Emergency Procedures: Familiarize yourself with emergency exits, fire extinguishers, and first aid kits. In case of emergency, follow the building’s emergency protocols.

 

7. Personal Belongings:

Storage: Keep personal belongings in your designated co-working studio space or paid storage space. The facility is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Items left unattended in common areas may be removed or discarded.

Label Personal Items: If you store materials or food in shared spaces (such as the fridge), please label them with your name.

 

8. No Smoking, Vaping, Drugs or Alcohol:

Smoking, vaping, drug or alcohol use is strictly prohibited in all areas of the facility, including the co-working studios, makerspace shop, break area, and bathrooms.

 

9. Respect for the Community:

Professionalism: Be courteous, professional, and respectful of other members. We aim to create a collaborative and productive environment.

 

Non-Discrimination: All members are expected to treat each other with respect and dignity, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, or background.

 

Zero Tolerance for Harassment: Harassment or disruptive behavior, whether verbal or physical, will not be tolerated. Any instances of harassment will be addressed immediately, and offenders may lose access to the space.

These rules may be amended from time to time without notice to Licensee. Continued use of the workspace indicates agreement to abide by the rules as amended.
