BV Made is dedicated to building a supportive strong community here in the Ark Valley. A space with tools and knowledgeable people. Where people can develop the skills needed to make whatever they can imagine, all while being a part of a creative community.
Our Story
The kernel of the idea hatched when Nicole, a maker, built her camper in Boulder's Bldg 61 makersapce. She loved how the team of makers at the makerspace always figured out how to solve the challenges of her build, instead of saying something wasn't possible. Fast forward a year Tish (a woodworker) and Nicole (a maker) met during a remote worker's meetup at Eddyline.They were both looking for a creative community and space and thought how powerful it would be to start a makerspace here in the Ark valley.
Nicole and Tish engaged with our local SBDC to craft their idea and gain the knowledge to launch BV Made. The biggest challenge was finding the right space, well actually any commercial space here in our rural mountain town of Buena Vista, CO. It took 2 years to find our new home at 222 S US Hwy 24.
There was strong support from the community during the first two years while we were searching for our perfect space. BV Made's community of supporters, makers, and entrepreneurs has steadily grown. Our members and volunteers are truly amazing and bring a diverse skillsets to BV Made!
