Ever wanted to work steel with fire and hammer? This hands-on workshop introduces you to the fundamentals of blacksmithing as you forge your own functional wall hook from a steel bar. No experience necessary, just curiosity and a willingness to get a little sweaty.

About the event
🔨 Beginning Blacksmithing
An introduction to the art and craft of forging steel. Students will learn basic forging techniques by crafting a wall hook out of a steel bar. Emphasis will be on learning how to safely operate a propane forge, use basic blacksmithing tools (hammer, anvil, tongs), build hammer technique, and understand how to efficiently move hot metal. No previous experience required.
By the end of class, you'll walk away with a hand-forged wall hook and a real feel for the craft.
What's provided: Forge, anvils, hammers, tongs, heavy gloves, eye protection and the steel for the hook.
What to bring/expect:
