Thursday night’s Fractal Wood Burning Class was an electrifying success, literally and figuratively!
Hosted by the talented and endlessly patient instructor, Adam Levy, the class brought together artists, makers, and curious beginners eager to explore the mesmerizing world of Lichtenberg figures. The classroom was alive with the sound of buzzing equipment, crackling wood, and delighted gasps as intricate lightning like patterns came to life under careful guidance.
From the very first spark, participants were hooked. Each piece of wood transformed into a unique organic masterpiece, with patterns branching and splitting like frozen electricity. Some compared the designs to rivers, trees, or even neurons—each burn telling a story shaped by moisture, voltage, and creativity.
Throughout the night, the room echoed with “oohs,” “aahs,” and even a few “Wait, that’s SO cool!” as classmates gathered around each new creation. Adam's deep knowledge and engaging style kept the energy high and the atmosphere safe, welcoming, and inspiring.
But the biggest surprise? By the end of the session, a chorus of eager voices had emerged:
“Adam, you HAVE to teach us how to make one of these tools ourselves!”
It turns out the only thing more captivating than fractal wood burning is the idea of creating your own gear to do it again—and again—at home. Adam took the suggestion with a grin, promising to consider adding a DIY Tool-Building Class to the upcoming calendar.
If last night is anything to go by, seats for that one will fill up fast.
Stay tuned for future classes and announcements—this is only the beginning of something electrifying.
